Disgusting service and ******* use of number plates by dealership

Found a lovely little car - Duster 1.5 diesel. Test drove the vehicle, negotiated the price and signed the OTP same day. Contacted Melissa to follow up on deal next day and explained what was required for banks including an invoice with vehicle details so that contracts could be drawn up. After following up with Melissa constantly over the next day and a half, Melissa contacted me to say that she had done all she could and she was waiting on the bookkeeper to raise the invoice (it had taken her 1,5 days before she had provided anything to the bookkeeper in order to raise the invoice. Well it then took another day to raise the invoice?? After lots of guidance, the deal was done and we were notified that the vehicle was ready for collection. As a kind gesture to make up for their incompetencies they filled the vehicle for us :) 4 days later the vehicle broke down - as it turns out the dealership had filled the diesel vehicle with petrol!! The vehicle was returned 4 June and i advised DP to replace or cancel the deal - no way was I taking that vehicle back. In the interim, the sales rep had left and the DP was now handing over to a new DP ! Old DP confirmed to me that Adrian would deal with the situation and replace the vehicle. I followed up with Adrian a day later to advise him that i was not taking the vehicle back - he was under the impression he could flush the vehicle and return to me ! A new vehicle was sourced and arrived in Durban 10 June from JHB. It needed a PDI check and a clean and that took 7 days when i was told it would be quick (2 days at a push). It only took 7 days because i threw my toys else it would have taken longer. During this time i also left several messages with the new DP and called him approximately 7 / 8 times. He didnt return my call but smsed me to say please bear with him and he is attending to the vehicle - no phone call !!

Anyway we eventually received the vehicle in question with temp permit for 21 days. 4 days before permit expired i contacted dealership to find out where my registration was. They asked me for my fica documents again and which i sent through again - they hadnt even bothered to start the registration process! As it turns out, they had all my documents as they registered the original vehicle in my name (the one that was returned) and had then proceeded to attach the licence and number plates to that vehicle and drive it around at the same time registering fines in my name in places more than a 100km from the dealership ! Normally when you drive a demo, there is barely more than enough fuel to get you around the block. When i took this up with the salesman, Shane told me he was busy with a customer and couldnt help me. Well that didnt go well since in my opinion when you are driving around *******ly on my name you had better make the time!! All said and done Renault paid the fine.

The vehicle is great and we enjoy it very much. The staff at Hillcrest Renault - well lets just say that on a scale of 1 to 10 for customer service - you rank below the levels available!!

I will never recommend these *********** louts.
