********* Vehicle Sale - Renault Fourways

I purchased a preowned Mini Cooper 2011 model from Renault Fourways on 08/02/2017. On 15/02/2017 the vehicle began to show a red light and simultaneously refusing to start the engine with ease. I reported the problem to Brad (Salesman) and he suggested that I take the vehicle to the nearest BMW for a full diagnosis. The results were, it needed a tappet cover replacement. I was without a vehicle for 3 weeks whilst the Renault dealership was still trying to complete the warranty policy with SA Warranties. I eventually received the vehicle back from BMW on 03/03/2017. The following, the very same disruptive behaviour persisted on the vehicle yet I was ascertained that this has been patch up. The dealership again requested that I return the vehicle to BMW on Monday, 06/03/2017 and they mentioned many other problems, amongst those was oil filter problem and battery. On the same day I personally visited Nedbank to inform them of this and they agreed to contact the dealership and inform them about my visit and the fact that I was within my rights as a consumer.

On 25 March I drove to Richards Bay with my wife and son, as I was driving on the N2 highway, the vehicle switch off whilst in motion and the steering just wouldn't sway to the slow lane easily putting my wife and son's life in danger. All this was communicated via email trial as well as several telephone calls which I have been patiently engaging the dealership. The vehicle was towed away by my insurance to uMhlanga Mini Cooper for another diagnosis which Renault Sales Manager had initiated. The results were around the engine chain which had snapped for some reason.

Through all this horrifying experience I was the person constantly in contact with the dealership, from it Salesman (Brad), Sales Manager (Mark), current Dealer Principal (Elvin), and his predecessor (Alistair). The Sales Manager vowed to try to get me another Mini but to date he has not done so. Even worse the current Dealer Principal had given me a ultimatum that if I fetch the vehicle from uMhlanga and deliver it to him, he would give me a good deal on the Mini Countryman. I refused to conform to this because I had stated to him that I no longer want to drive the vehicle and wish to be given another vehicle on the current budget. Due to the horrible and degrading experience from Elvin, I have decided to cancel the deal and I advised him of this. He would not take me seriously as a customer, he mistakes me for a fool just because of my patience thus far. I can see that they have been buying time from 15 February 2017 for whatever the reasons may be. I have not enjoyed the vehicle from the very infinitesimal stages of the purchase and no remorse have been shown in the process. The attitude of the Principal dealer is inadequately shocking to even describe. To this end, I am convinced that I would never do business with Renault and want to cancel the deal immediately!!!
