Cable tie repairs hy Renault

We recently took our Renault Duster for repairs on the fuel injection system. The Bloemfontein workshop repaired the fuel injection with cable ties and informed us that this the way Renault recommends it to be fixed. I am just wondering if other vehicle manufacturers also repair their vehicles with cable ties? Would you like your German or Italian vehicle to be repaired with cable ties? And who would like to buy a vehicle like this?
