Breach of Sections 26 and 28 of the Consumer Protection Act

My husband traded in our previous car for a brand new one at Renault Paarden Eiland on 13 December 2024. We requested to keep the previous registration number for the new car (the staff at the dealer did not remove the registration plates from the old car). The salesperson in the pre-owned car sales dept sold our previous vehicle with our registration plates on it. The new owner has been stacking up traffic fines in my husband's name, and we have been emailing the Dealer Principal, Tammy Maddox (as well as ***, with zero response) since 16 May 2025 (because the pre-owned sales manager Andy Duncan was ghosting my husband and not responding to WhatsApp messages) regarding these fines and to date she has not resolved the issue. The latest fine is for R800, and the warrant of arrest will be issued in 4 days - what are we supposed to do now?? I called the NCC call centre this morning and the agent, after listening to my story simply said eish and hung up! So, I guess trying to email them will be useless too!

In addition to the above issue, our brand-new Kiger started squeaking around mid-May (5months old!). I took it in, to the service dept. in the first week of June 2025. They said that the spring attaching the exhaust to the manifold was the reason and it just needed to be removed, lubricated and re-attached. 10 days after that, the squeak was back. Then the Service person Mahin, told hubby that it would be a warranty claim and he would need to escalate. This took another month before hubby was told to bring the car in for the repairs. These also only lasted two weeks and the squeak was back a third time! Now hubby and I both work in Customer Service, and the first rule is "Manage your customer's expectations, by keeping them informed/abreast of what is happening". However, none of the staff at Renault Paarden Eiland, do follow up calls to tell us what was done, what will happen next, what/who we are waiting for, etc. We are constantly having to follow up with them, including the Dealer Principal. Only when I involved her last Thursday, did the required flange gasket that was meant to be replaced in the first place, miraculously appear! This was after another month of silence. I am most disappointed in the fact that once they have made their sale and have your money, they could not care LESS about your issues.
