Brand new car may as well be 10yrs old

I very excitedly took delivery of my brand new Renault Clio at the beginning of July this year, only to have my excitement turn to absolute disappointment and utter regret.

From the start, there were little issues with stone chips on the bumpers which, in hindsight, should have been the deciding factor as to whether or not I took delivery of my brand new car. I tried to contact the sales lady who, post sale, was never available and never returned calls or emails. My partner and I eventually visited the branch to find out what was going on and to find out when I could expect the vehicle registration papers and the number plates. Surprise, surprise, the sales lady "was just about to call" me.

Within a week of taking delivery of the vehicle, it developed a rattle on the driver's side, the driver's side door and the boot lid did not close properly. To top it all off, Renault South Africa told me to take it up with the Dealer Principal - we had left messages for him to contact us too but no response.

Again I took the vehicle back to the dealership and managed to speak to the Dealer Principal who then took the vehicle to the workshop to have the rattle attended to. That "repair" lasted all of a week or two. At the beginning of October I booked my car in so that Renault Bryanston could attend to the rattle yet again, as well as the door and boot lid catches. In addition to this, I had noted warning lights on the dashboard about the "stop start" function, and the bluetooth connectivity was *****, so I asked the dealership to attend to that as well.

When I went to collect my vehicle that afternoon, I was told that the stop start function and bluetooth setup had been reprogrammed, the door and boot lid catches had had a generous layer of grease slathered over them, and I was informed the the rattle could not be found. Add to my ever increasing dissappointment, the fact that somebody had taken it upon themselves to replace my new keyring with and older, damaged keyring.

This weekend, the driver's side door has developed a squeak everytime I drive over a rough surface or a speed bump and when I call the dealership to book my vehicle in, there is no response from the "service" department.

I have had so many issues with this supposedly brand new car that I may as well have bought a pre-owned tractor.
