Brand New Car Dissapointment

It is with great regret and disappointment that I am writing this complaint. I have just collected my new Renault Kadjar after its second visit to the dealership in a month. I have been hugely patient up until this point but now need this issue to be escalated. I purchased a brand new Renault Kadjar on the 31st of January 2018 from Renault the Glen (Group 1). Upon delivery on the 1st of February I noticed a number of faults on the exterior of the vehicle which were noted by the salesman.

This issues were as follows: 1. Chips and scratches on the left side mirror 2. Chip and dent on the back left door 3. Exterior chrome finishes on the vehicle were damaged and look ‘rusted’ Upon further inspection that evening the following issues were also noted: 1. Water ingress on both headlights (more severely on the right), leaving water marks. 2. A number of scratches on the bonnet By the 20th of February no action had been taken by the dealership to attend to the cars faults as promised, following which I sent through an escalation email. Arrangements were then made to collect my car on the 22nd of February. I was repeatedly told that they needed to wait for a hot day to attend to the damaged chrome. On the 22nd I was told that the mirror, dent and chrome would be fixed. I was also told that the lights and seat would be inspected for a warranty claim. Upon collecting my car on the 22nd, a very poor touch up job had been done on the mirror and back door in a colour that was not even correct. The chrome had been polished and the damage was still very much visible, if not worse. By now my frustration was mounting and no further commitments had been made on the warranty claim issues.

Further issues were identified: 1. Defect on driver’s seat 2. Air-conditioning switches off after a few minutes and only comes back on if the car is switched off and on again. Through a process of illumination we found that this was not due to auto or eco modes. 3. Error message for ‘Keycard battery low’

The issues were escalated to the Sales Manager and the car was booked in from the 6th of March to the 9th of March. The purpose of this visit was once again to resolve the exterior damage issues and attend to the aircon. My car was at the dealership for a total of 4 days, on collection of my vehicle I found that the mirror had been re-sprayed but now has 3 scratches on the bottom of the mirror. I then discovered that the warranty claims for the headlights, chrome beading and driver’s seat had only been placed this week and that no timelines could be communicated to me. I was also informed that they are negotiating the warranty claim on the driver’s seat. My keycard battery had not been replaced and to top it all off my car had not even been washed. I once again sit with a number of unresolved issues on a brand new Renault Kadjar. This is a high end vehicle and I expect better service than currently provided. As a first time Renault owner I am hugely disappointed in the quality of the product as well as the service provided. My impression of the brand has been *****ed and I regret changing brands. I have owned three Peugeots and have never had one after sales issue. In my one month with Renault I have had eight issues and have not even paid my first instalment.

I need these issues to be resolved with a matter of urgency either through a replacement vehicle or a refund.
