Be weary when buying used vehicles at Renault Tokai
I gave my car into the dealership for a rust inspection on 04/12/18 at 07:30am and was told by Christiaan the car would be done in 2hrs. The issue was that the paint at the front of the bumper was starting to flake off.
I left the dealership and was trying to get hold of them since 11am with no joy or no call from them as to the progress of the vehicle.
I went into the dealership at 14:00pm only for Christiaan to tell me the panel beater will only be in at 15:00pm.
Anyway the panel beater saw the vehicle and said the bonnet had been sprayed and Christiaan said as such that doesn't fall within Renaults warranty.
The problem I have is that the vehicle was bought at the dealership and this information was not disclosed to us that work had been done on the vehicle. And to my knowledge they got the vehicle from Imperial.
They obviously overlooked this when doing the inspection of the car and now they are not taking responsibility for their ignorance.
I went as far to call Renault South Africa for them to tell me that there is nothing they can do because the vehicle was sprayed.
The most disheartening thing is that we bought it from a Renault Dealership thinking everything was in order and as such the aftersale service would be good.
The manager must still call us and I'll post feedback as to that discussion. But can anyone please advise me what to do next if it isn't favourable to us.
