Bad service by Renault SA my car has been with the dealer for 9 months
My name is Miss Lindokuhle Malinga. I own a Renault Clio IV. My car was taken in by Renault Clearwater on the 18 August 2017. They had to replace the cylinder head. I was called to collect the car on the 3 October 2017 cause it was done. On the 5 October 2017 I had to take the car back cause it was making noise that’s not normal only to find they needed to fit defamer solenoid valve. Which was replaced by the car was still not fully functional so the car was kept by the dealer until they thought it was now fit to be given to me on the 28 March 2018. Prior to me getting the car back I opened a case with Innocentia at Customer Care this was now 7months after not being with my car. She told me she sees nothing wrong the amount of work the dealer has done justifies them keeping the car for this long. So in short no help from head office. I got the car when they were ready to give it to me with no priority what so ever.
I then contacted the Ombudsman who told me that I don’t qualify to get a new car as the car is over 6 months old. I then told them I just want a solution that’s permanent regarding my car. They told me I don’t have a case as they need to know what outcome do I want from the matter. Instead they told me I should get a second opinion on the car which I would have to pay for. At this point I just was left not knowing what to do.
Much to my disappoint the car broke down again and had to take it back on the 3rd of April 2018. The engine light was on, it was showing it needed a service, writing all sorts of things and worse it had no power so it would take me an hour to get to a 15km away destination cause it only travels at a speed of 20km/h. During the time it was with them they told me the car was taken to a senior technical person in Bruma. The dealer kept the car until the 25 April which I took the car back.Which I was assured that everything is fine with the car and they have done all sorts of tests all is good to go. On the 29 April 2018 the car did the exact same thing that they claimed to have fixed. Car went back to the dealer on the 30 April 2018.
So I’m only having a car that has a life span of 3 days. I have since again logged a complaint with Innocentia at Customer Care.
I’m really not sure what to do anymore to get assistance in getting my car permanently fixed without all this inconvenience. I’m livid now it’s 9 months later there has been no resolution on the matter. I could have had a baby and delivered by now. I am paying every month for a car that is stationed and kept by Renault. I am inconvenienced to using a car that is below my car yet I’m paying for a car that I like and own. If I cannot get the manufacturer of the car to fix it then who should? Is it really fair to be waiting for so long just for a car to be fixed. In three months it will be a year.
Please look into this. And I’m hoping to hear from you if you would be able with your connections to get my case treated as a priority cause I’m exhausted dealing with this now. Even if I call head office requesting to speak to someone senior no one is ever willing to hear me out instead they shove me back to where I’m not receiving any assistance. Even with the car going back again on Monday till today I haven’t received a call from Renault SA regarding the complaint then I logged again with them. I have sent emails to The head of Customer Care and his boss but much to my surprise still no word even from them. I have tried to get their attention even on social media to an epic fail no response nothing. Both on Facebook and Twitter, they don't even acknowledge my messages,
what must happen for my case to be taken seriously? is this the kind of service customers can expect from Renault SA?
