Avoidance of warranty claim

on Thursday 2nd June while my wife was driving back from work her lights cut out. She managed to get the car home when trying to restart it would not. We had Renault assist tow the vehicle to Renault woodmead for repair. As the vehicle has only done just over 20 000km we were certain that it was a warranty issue. Upon examination Steven the guy dealing with the vehicle informed us that a fuse had been tampered with causing something to burn out as such Renault warranty would not cover! He also confirmed these parts are covered by the warranty. We would like to know if this is how you avoid paying warranty claims as we can assure you that Renault as indicated by the signed service history book is the only company that services this vehicle!!! By saying WE as the owners tampered with the fuse is absolute ******* and tantamount to defamation. It's not about the money but the principle that we are being forced to pay for what your warranty should cover. Your technicians are the only people to work on the vehicle and the only ones that could have tampered with the fuse. I will advise Everyone I know NEVER to buy Renault if this is how you treat your customers and avoid an issue when it comes to a warranty issue. Should this not be dealt with correctly and settled by the warranty we will be forced to go to the motor vehicle ombudsman where I will fight you and I will win. The question is how much bad press do you want as a company that avoids paying out warranty claims
