RemoteMeteringSolutions(RMS) - Abnormally electricity readings

I actually don't even know where to begin to express my utmost disappoint with RMS also known as ismrt... I recently moved into a 2 bedroom townhouse in Centurion at Celtis Ridge complex, upon moving in we were advised by the real estate agent that the property makes use of RMS as their preferred serviced provider for prepaid electricity, totally oblivious to the fact that going into business with this company would be the worst experience, I accepted and moved in.

The first month of moving in, my bill came in at R 1700, that time it's just myself and my mother, we spent the first week unpacking so not really making use of any appliances, nonetheless it came in at that amount. The second month it came in at R 1200, by then I had just about had it. I contacted the RMS team, who for the first week you couldn't even get through, by the second week, we spoke to a lady, can't remember her name who said she would take up the matter with management but never did, and to this day she still has contacted me back. Eventually I spoke to another lady, by the name of Daphney, rather helpful I must say, but it didn't change the ridiculous readings that were coming off of my meter.

After further discussions with them, we then decided that we call upon a Certified Electrician to come and check out the meter, the Electrician advised that there is nothing wrong with the meter, so that can't be the problem, however does agree that our meter readings from RMS are inaccurate and downright impossible and absurd for two people living in an apartment, who do not cook everyday, who don't do laundry every week even, who have resorted to using a gas stove, and are not at home for most of the day. The electrician advised that he suspects that RMS is estimating readings instead of actually coming in and taking accurate readings. He mentioned that at most we should be charged R12 at the most a day, if you could see my statement you would see that minimum charges are R25 a day, how is that possible?

I'm at a point where I'm starting to think that they charge based on the colour of your skin. I was advised by Daphney that the previous renters were white and the most the meter charged them was R10, which is more than double what I'm currently paying. So how is that possible? Same apartment, same number of people in the apartment, same meter, how is that we are being bled dry? Why? Because we're black? And our last name isn't Schoeman? Is that why we're being treated unfairly? I need answers.

There are days when we haven't been home for a whole weekend and when you come back they've charged you over R60 for the whole weekend, how is that possible? I demand answers, this needs to stop. I've put too much money into this company and I won't do it anymore!!!

Here's another e.g. for you, they sent me an sms last week saying that my meter is running low and I need to recharge before it runs out. It being mid-month and me running low on cash, I decided to recharge with R200 hoping it would push me till month end. This transaction took place on the 17th of Jan last week, this morning, guess what, I receive a message that I'm running low again. THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE!!!! I MEAN HOW????

If you search for RMS on hellopeter you'll see all the bad reviews they have??? So it's quite evident that I'm not the only one!!!!

STOP THUMBSUCKING OUR METER READINGS & TAKE ACTUAL READINGS!!!
