I just want my deposit back!!
*sigh* I was staying at a unit, where RMS/iSMART was supplying electricity to, for 3 years. Service during that time was okay, cannot complain. Fast forward December 2017 when I move out. Sent through cancellation form on 12/12/2017 via email, indicating vacating day 16/12/2017. Days and weeks after vacating, the meter is still running and deposit still not paid back. 2/2/2018 I finally stop getting notification so I assume meter is switched off, ok cool better late than never I guess. Week goes by deposit still not paid. I tried emailing them several times prior asking when the meter would be switch off and when I would get my deposit, no response. I tried calling them and got bounced from operator to operator until my airtime ran out, 3 times this happened and they don't even have the decency to call back. Eventually, 4th time lucky I get hold of someone mildly helpful and they say that meters take around 30 days to be switched off. What is the point of specifying a vacating date if I still have to wait 30 days for it to be switched off and why is this not indicated on the cancellation form? Had I know, I would have filled in the form atleast 3 weeks prior to avoid this. The lady then tells me I will have to wait another 30 days to receive my deposit. I ask a friend of mine who was staying at the same place and using the same services if this happened to them when they moved out and the answer was NO, they received their deposit withing days of moving out. Inconsistent much? I just want my deposit, may not be much to them but it is to me!

Hi Nan93
After some digging I found that the building you are referring to is managed by a different company. The company is called IS Metering and not ismrt! at RMS.
I apologise that you were pushed from pillar to post when you phoned in to our offices.
In the meantime I have notified IS Metering about your cancellation request and your complaint. IS Metering will assist you with the cancellation process and should be able to resolve this matter in no time.
If you would like to get in touch with them, you may contact IS Metering on *** or at ***.
I hope this helps?
Kind regards,
The ismrt!Team
