Excessive units issued but no one was at home

Sunday the 14th of October 2018, I was issued 11 units (kW/h) of electricity usage. The problem is that I was not at home that day and only the refrigerator was plugged in.

I wrote RMS a mail and a few days later I received this message Titled "Email request filed and archived": "We aim to delight our customers and provide results; however If you believe that the email request has been closed in error, please reply to this email and the request will open again for our attention.

Kind regards, The ismrt!Team"

I rep**** to this message. I still have not received any feedback: is the matter being investigated?

Dear ECahill

I investigated the matter and one of our agents responded and asked for more info regarding your complex and unit number to enable her to investigate the matter further.

After not receiving a response from you, the ticket was closed. There was also no response from your side to reopen the ticket. When you reply to that same ticket, our system will automatically reopens your case.

Please keep in mind that every morning you are billed for the previous day's consumption. This means your Sunday's consumption would have been billed on Monday morning on your smrt!Wallet.

For a more in depth investigation into the matter, please reply to the closed email notification you mentioned and please include your complex name and unit no. or your smrt!Wallet no and the agent will assist.

Kind regards

ismrt! Team

Hi, Yes I did REPLY (not just send an email) to that email(Re: Email request Issuing of units | Email reference no.: 105803) on the 19th of October 2018 10:26 AM, where I gave the Estate name and my apartment number. I rep**** to it again on 3rd of November, 2018, 9:16 AM. I do know that we are billed on the previous day's consumption. I was not home on Saturday and I came home late on Sunday. I am just using that particular day as it was billed for that specific day. This is not the only time that the billing did not make sense: 1)30 March 2018 due to a cable theft we had no electricity for that day, on the 31st of March I was billed 0.2790 units and on R 29.00 where it is specified under the Charge column it is "ENERGY DOMESTIC 1 PHASE" and under the Note column "COMMON AREA ELECTRICITY" Again a cable theft on 4 May 2018, I was billed 3.7190 on the 5th of May. But now the 6th and the 7th of May I was billed 11.8850 and 11.7270 respectively. I mailed RMS then too and that matter was also not resolved. I used HelloPeter for this matter then. I was told I just used more electricity, but now I am rethinking this as the reasons mentioned (above and below). Again a cable theft on the 22th of June, on the 23rd I was billed 0.4470 units. Again 27 June 2018 our area had a cable theft (on the 28th) I was billed 0.4180 units, but the electricity was off the whole day. The electricity only came on the next day, midday. Again on the 10th of August 2018 (billed on the 11th of August) we were billed 0.2790 units, but our area had a cable theft again. On the 31th of July 2018 I was billed for the 30th comsumption of electricity (with the Rate being 1.9080), but I was billed 23.0225 (I guess should have been Rand, but was given as units) for "ENERGY DOMESTIC 1 PHASE" with the "Rate" of 1.6304, which is equal to R37.53. Under the Note column: "COMMON AREA ELECTRICITY" All these little transactions add up to much in the end. 2) I get billed the same amount whether I use or don't use the stove. Usually when one makes use of a stove or kettle it will consume more electricity. I would also like to find out where does one see the metering of water consumption and the hot water metering? I also get erratic billing on water consumption and hot water consumption. I understand that it cannot always say the same amount as I may use some more electricity and water on some days. But to use an average of 4-5 units a day (average that I used when I just moved and made use of RMS) to jump to 11-12 units now, it is unfathomable.
