Transferring surplus savings without permission!

I changed jobs in the last 6 months resulting in me changing medical schemes as well. I was with Remedi before and had a savings plan. After about 3 months of being on the new Discovery plan with savings, I enquired about my surplus savings funds in my old Remedi scheme to be paid out with them answering on a Remedi letterhead communication that this will be paid out to me, the client, on the 16th November. The 16th came and I followed up only to be told they will get back to me within 2-3 business days. After eventually coming back to me, they said that they transferred the funds to my current savings account with Discovery. My problem is that the amount they will have paid out to me directly was already filtered into my current budget. Now they come with a excuse that according to an apparent law they cannot pay savings out directly to the client when he has an existing savings account. Why tell me in a previous communication then that it will be paid to me personally on an exact date only to turn on your word and do what you feel is most convenient and less trouble?<br> VERY DISGRUNTLED!!!!!
