Don’t do it!! It’s a money making scheme! Don’t enrol here or you will regret it !

I am a first year BCOM student and I wish I would have never wasted my company’s funds to come to this institution. Before joining Regent, I was an online student at UJ and the way that institution supported first year students who are distance learners and don’t understand the porta was amazing, they made it a breeze and we got notifications almost everyday. In my unfortunate case, I was late for an assignment in which I submitted medical reports which indicate the type of development condition I have and extensions I may require thereof. To my surprise, firstly they charge you a fee of R750 just to resubmit an assignment even if you are one day late! If that was not enough, their portal is not user friendly at all! Even for me to do an extension I had to call support. When I did the extension, my portal indicated the 28th of May 2024 as the last day I can resubmit my assignment however I was done with the assignment by the 25th and when I tried to resubmit, I couldn’t. When I checked the portal again, it changed dates again and it now says I only had 5 days to resubmit the assignment from the time I app**** for an extension so I raised this up with them and now they changing and saying I had up until the 24th of May and I can no longer resubmit my assignment meaning I will fail a module worth R5850 over 1 assignment for 70 marks plus I was charged R750 late assignment penalty! Please tell me what type of money hungry institution is this? So they purposely fail an individual for only 1 assignment knowing they will make money all over again by making the student redo the entire module? I am so defeated. Like I said I was an online student before this and completed my qualification in record time so this school is really a disgrace. Nothing and absolutely nothing is friendly about the portal. You can’t chat to anyone online and they take their time to respond to emails. My work company funds over 100 students to come to Regent however based on what has happened to me, I am planning on writing a report to the company to reconsider cutting funding for this institution. You don’t even get guided on where and how to get a guide or how to watch lectures. You don’t get a notification to even notify you that the exam time table is out. I bet there will be many people that will miss exams. You have to scavenge everything for yourself. Absolutely horrifying . No notifications to your email to even tell you that an assignment is due or up. Please save yourself money and do not be a victim like me. Find another school!!! This is a money making scheme. It’s also a shame for people who live with disabilities like me. No accommodation for someone like myself who has medical reports regarding their health. Imagine redoing an entire module worth R5850 just for 1 assignment only for 70 marks? My company is yet to pay them again and I am trying to get them to cut the payment so I can drop out. What a shocking school. This is not a scheme but consider it a loan shark! Don’t play with your future like the way I did! Save yourself time and go to UNISA cause atleast it’s not money hungry.
