Absolute PATHETIC service and even WORSE customer (DON'T)care!!
I placed an order at Reader's Warehouse on 27 November 2018 and the delivery time stated 3 - 5 working days. I was happy with that, as it was my christmas shopping and calculated that it will arrive waaaayyyy on time. DON'T YOU BELIEVE IT!!
5 Desember 2018, I phoned them to enquire about my order as it was then still not even sent from their warehouse. The lady said she will follow up and get back to me. NOTHING.
On Monday 10 Desember (9 working days after I placed the order) I phoned Reader's Warehouse again to enquire about my parcel and got the answer that they have a big backlog (as if that is my fault!?) but that the parcel was collected by the courier on Monday. I asked the lady to confirm that it will be delivered THIS WEEK still as I am leaving on holiday and need to take the parcel with me. She confirmed that it will be delivered by Thursday. I left it there as a whole week really is ample time to deliver a parcel.
Got to Thursday - no delivery.
Phoned Reader's warehouse AGAIN and they said it is with Dawn Wing and that I should enquire directly from them. Phoned Dawn Wing and they said that the parcel is already with a third party courier and they will confirm delivery. The lady from Dawn Wing phoned me back to say that the third party courier are waiting for authorisation from Reader's warehouse to deliver the parcel this week as they only planned to deliver it NEXT WEEK. Next week when I am NOT HERE to collect the parcel. NEXT WEEK when I so clearly and SO EARLY ON explained to Reader's Warehouse that I will NOT be available to accept the parcel.
On Friday - today - I phoned Reader's Warehouse again to ask why they cannot give the authorisation to RWS courier to deliver my parcel this week. I made NUMEROUS phone calls and got all kinds of answers which range from "Dawn Wing says delivery this week is impossible as the parcel is still in Johannesburg" - after I phoned Dawn Wing AND RWS and confirmed myself that the parcel is indeed in Modimolle and that they are still just waiting for authorisation for the parcel to go out. And so I can go on and on and on how Reader's warehouse tried to sidestep my delivery issues.
The worst moment for this day was when TWO of Reader's Warehouse staff members said that if I can't accept the parcel next week, that they will then refund me my purchase. I almost had a stroke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did their work FOR them. I phoned them - continuously - to follow up to ask again and again and again if they will deliver on the promises they made time after time after time. I made the purchases WELL in advance to accommodate any reasonable delays and to ensure I have all my christmas shopping done before I leave for holiday. AND STILL THEY HAVE THE AUDACITY to shrug their shoulders with their absolute apathetic attitude.
Eventually I got through to a supervisor at Reader's Warehouse and she actually made an effort to ask their accounts department to authorise my delivery this week. She phoned me back to say that it will be too expensive for them to have the parcel delivered to me this week and my only options are to drive through to Modimolle (200km roundtrip!!!!!!) to collect it myself or have them refund me, because they will ONLY deliver next week.
WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????????????????????????????
Reader's Warehouse did not adhere to their part of the transaction with delivering between 3-5 working days (not to mention that the parcel didn't even leave their warehouse in that time frame) and then THIRTEEN DAYS after, they have the nerve to shrug their shoulders with no care in the world.
PATHETIC BEYOND ANY WORDS I KNOW TO DESCRIBE THIS SITUATION.
Now I am driving to Modimolle tomorrow morning to collect my parcel - the depot closes at 9am. 100km there and 100km back. MY OWN COSTS. MY OWN TIME.
The joke of it all - I actually PAID a delivery fee to Reader's Warehouse when I made my purchase...
WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(And don't you dare reply with a "sorry for the inconvenience". Your sorry means about as much as your promises to deliver and inconvenience is not even CLOSE to what you've put me through!)
