Week for Week *******
International timeshare swops are done on a week for week basis with no regard to the number of points a member receives for their specific week. I have timeshare at Sun City Vacation Club 8100 points for a week. A friend has a timeshare at Umhlanga Sands 1560 points for a week.

My booking at Hollywood Beach Towers Fort Lauderdale cost 8100 points compared to the 1560 points my friend would have used for the same booking.

RCI are not being dishonest when they state week for week but people need to be aware of this fact. Week for week may appear attractive but not when the points used are totally inequitable.

Now that I am a little wiser the next time I want to do an international booking I will look at a different route. My friend does the swop using her timeshare and the dramatically lower points. The week could then be given to me as a gift and all that is required is the payment of the gift fee.

People buying timeshare specifically for overseas travel should purchase the cheapest timeshare possible which will have very low points but who cares. Week for week is wonderful if your points are low.
