RCI international 'benefit'. More like a curse....

RCI international 'benefit'. More like a curse....

When purchasing a 10 year membership a few years back, one of the selling points was the exchange holidays for international trips. What they don't tell you, is that these seem to be VERY limited.

We have since moved to the UK, so can no longer use our annual week in SA. Prior to COVID, we did manage to find some exchange accommodation in the UK. Although it was not easy and we had very limited options.

Post COVID, and out of lockdowns, we can't seem to find anything in the UK. We have points that will eventually expire, but can't use them in the country we're staying in. We have been asking the RCI consultant for more than a year now. Nothing.

The most infuriating part of all this, is the complete lack of empathy and seemingly complete disinterest from the RCI consultant who deals with international bookings, for our situation. The consultant I have had the displeasure of dealing with (he has taken over from a previous consultant who was much better), never comes back to me about anything. No updates. No courtesy check-ins. Nothing. I am always the one having to ping him. He mostly ignores me for a while, and then I get rude responses when I take him on about not helping us.

Once I'm out of this timeshare lock in, I will NEVER use RCI again, and I will relay my experience to all that will listen.
