Unfair & Addtional Deposit request
I app**** for a flat via Rawson properties in January 2015 of this year. I got approved and was asked to pay a deposit of which I had made a full payment. Recently the owner has sold the unit to some one else and during this time my deposit that had paid had to be transferred to the new owner. The old owner paid the deposit short claiming that I was responsible for his bank charges & unpaid water bill which is not true. I had never been pre warned about being liable for bank charges or given a choice to pay directly to the owner or Rawson themselves. I am now being asked to pay an extra deposit and if I choose to leave the unit I will not be refunded my full deposit as Mrs Karen Van Niekerk is adamant that she is not involved yet the lease agreement in in the name of the agency.

I feel very unprotected as the tenant who should be the most valued. I wish I had a lawyer at this point as I am not involved in any of the affairs between Rawson & the two owners.

What do I do here???
