The worst service ever
I have started using rawson property kuilsriver last year september when we decided to sell our property and we have not had anything but trouble with them.
We decided to sell our home due to unfortunate circumstances and approached rawson property to sell out home. They found a buyer for our home and the process started with the sale of the property. We have not had any other place to live and decided to use rawson property to lease a property through them as well. With the success we managed to get a property and we signed a lease for 6 months.
We were due to move into the property on the 01. January 2020 but we had to do early occupation and moved in on the 27th of december 2019 as the person buying our house wanted to move in earlier as he works away and wanted to move into the property before he leaves the country and we agreed to that. On the 26th of December 2019 we received communication from rawson to advise us that the new owner does not want to move in any more and wants to wait till registration is complete.
We unfortunately signed the lease agreement for the rental property and could not stay in our home as we have already made a commitment to move in on the 27 December 2019 into the rental property.
Myself and the agent came to an agreement that we were going to take the proceeds of the sale of our house to pay for the deposit of the rental house and agreed to pay 3 months rent upfront.
The sale of our property took longer than expected as it was december and the deeds office was closed for the holidays obviously delaying any payments made to the rental property.
In the middle of January I got communication from the rental agent to advise that I am in breach of my lease agreement and threatened to evict me out of the property and threatened that they were going to put the house up for rental again if I did not come up with the past 2 months rent which was difficult for me as this was not the agreement we had and they went against the agreement we had regarding the deposit and upfront rent.
I made a loan of R20,000 at the company I am employed at to cover the rent so far and anything else that needed to be covered. I then paid this over to the rental agent and they were happy.
We started occurring problems with In the property with a leak in the bathroom and waited almost a month for them to come out and repair the water leak. This meant we had to turn the water on and off in order for the place not to floor causing a lot of inconvenience for us as we have to go out in the middle of the night and in the rain to turn on the the water if we required water or wanted to flush the toilet. We have received a water bill for almost over R2000 in which we refused to pay due to the leak in the property and we were advised that they have averaged it out according to the rental tribunal to an amount of R560 which I still dont believe we used that much.
They eventually came to fix the leak in the bathroom and suddenly another leak arised with in the property in the kitchen under neath the sink only to discover the water is not leaking below the sink but coming out of the wall where the tap is situated. We informed them there of and also took pictures of the leak showing them the inconvenience this is causing as we now have to switch the water off after every use. If we leave it on for to long it starts overflowing the kitchen.
In March when the president announced the national lockdown I informed rawson property that i will not be able to pay my rent as I was under paid and they requested I completed a document that was going to be sent to there head office for I dont know what. They also requested my payslip but since I completed this document I have not heard anything back from them. They made me believe that they were going to help me.
This has caused so much distress on myself financially and affected me emotionally and mentally that I had to go see the doctor as I could not sleep for nights on end .
We could of still been staying in our home and this would not of been a problem now but because the agent made us believe that the sale was going to be completed by end of january and the house was going to be occupied by the new owner until registration is complete. This advise given by the agent has mislead us and caused so much problems with in our lives to benefit them.
This has put us in financial distress as I had to make a loan from my company In order to pay for what was agreed with the agency. But they have not lived up to their end of the agreement.
We are not even making any money on the sale of our home because we have to pay rawson for there horrible service almost R100,000 for only putting us through hardship and distress and no commitment or communication from them.
All we are seeking for is justice for the horrible service we have received from rawson properties and guidance on a way forward as I do not want the next person to experience such horrible service.
