Serious safety concern

Serious safety concern. In order to be able to view a property, I was asked to whatsapp an image of my ID or drivers licence. As a female this worries me, especially as after offering to show it when viewing the property, I was told it would have to be sent to her boss. Why? And what about the POPIA act about personal information? This sounds very ***** and what will they do with ID info? Please stay safe everyone, this sounds very unsafe practice.
