First time home buyers taken for a ride

I purchased a property last year november,rawson properties handled my sale,and i dealt with an agent by the name.of ricardo,and i was told after viewing the property that there was no faults or flaws on the house,I moved in this year july only to find that the geyser had exploded previously damaging the ceilings,the plumbing was done haphazardly causing leaks from the bathroom to the kitchen,all the mixers are damaged,the shower doesnt work,the tiles on the wall are falling,not the picture that the agent introduced me to,there was pressure on myself by the agent to get the sale closed last year but once the property wAs bought ,there was no communication from him,not even an official handover merely the previous home owner leaving the keys at my dads place,I am totally upset and apalled that everything was handled in such an unprofessional manner by the rawson agent,I taught an establishment like rawsons will be much more transparent with first time home buyers like myself,I am disgusted by the aftersale service, two weeks i aproached the agent for assistance and for the assessment certificates and I was told to seek the previous home owner and take her to small claims court?why?
