Demanding money prior to setting up viewings

Rawson Northriding will not set up an appointment to view a rental property prior to an amount of R150 being paid into their bank account. This is supposedly for credit checks. <br> <br> They also will not set up an appointment without receiving 3 months payslips, 3 month's bank accounts, copy of my SA ID and proof of residence. In addition to all of the paperwork they want me to sign a rental contract and provide all of this information without showing me the actual property. How can I enter into a contractual agreement for a property I have never seen? <br> <br> They are also in contravention of the POPI act. They have no right to ask for all of these documents purely to set up and appointment. For the task of setting up an appointment they only need my name and phone number. Once a offer has been made and accepted only then do they have the right to ask for this information. I think this is a money making **** to ask for money prior to a viewing. So will they refund me should the property be taken by another tenant prior to me seeing it? <br> <br>
