I am very disappointed with the service that I have received. I have been patient respectful and have adhered to all requests made by RARC, but I have not received the same courtesy (in some respect) from the company. When I booked the car in on 28 November 2016 (after confirming this date with RARC beforehand), a friendly lady assured me that the process would take 7 - 10 days as the company would be closing and that the staff would be working overtime. I asked if she was sure and she assured me that it was not a major repair. I then proceeded to make arrangements around this time frame for my surgery as well as my work commitments, completely cognisant of the festive season rush. I received confirmation from my insurance as well as the company that the car was now going for panel beating as the parts had arrived on 02 December 2016. On 06 December 2016 I was informed that the car was being prepared for painting and I was honestly impressed by what seemed like the good, speedy service that was assured of in previous communication. This is the day I also agreed to paying an additional R1300 for additional work. On 08 December 2016 the 10 days had lapsed so I came to the company to enquire about the progress of the car. The car was not ready so I came back the next day after I received a vague message about the progress of my car. On 09 December 2016 (today) I was assured that the car would be ready for collection after 16:30 and that I should come back after 16:30. Although the man who assured me seemed mockingly inappropriate, I took his word for it. The assurance was solidified by the lady who told me that she would see me later for collection and that I should draw money (as all monetary transactions are done in cash). After making transport arrangements (and confirming my work commitments for Monday and my surgery for Tuesday) I arrived at 16:45 to find the reception closed and was confused by this, so I entered using the workshop opening. I was then met by the man who was seemingly inappropriate earlier in his assurance that I would receive my car, only to have him mock the way I speak again. At this point I wanted to just pay and collect my car. To my surprise, I was told by him that it was not ready. I had to make arrangements to go home and inconvenience people in the process. I did not even want to deal with the inappropriate man who had falsely assured me of good service so I didn't complain to him. This was especially disappointing as I had made commitments that have financial and professional consequences. I just feel that I am being taken advantage of and not respected as a customer.
