Unprofessional delivery service and irrelevant proof of adress request
Had a delivery from Vodacom and the driver arrived to my workplace for the delivery and pertinently requested 3 months printed bank statements for proof of residence. I have a letter confirming my residence from my rental agent due to recently moving and the adress provided to Vodacom does not currently match the old adress on the bank statement. When explaining this to the driver, and showing him my adress on my bank statement, the driver specifically scrolled down to see what the opening and closing balance is on my bank statement whereafter he again then said that he needs a printed pack of 3 months bank statement. Since when has it been a requirement of proof of adress that printed bank statements are to be sent with the driver to the warehouse? Does this not account for possibility of ***** purposes? I have 3 witnesses in our reception area who also explained to the driver that no other courier service has ever requested physical printed bank statements, they merely take a picture of the adress on the clietns phoned of the adress only, vetting of affodrablity on bank account balanaces has nothing to do with the delivery service.

While we have rules in place from all the service providers we make deliver for, for security reasons we have to unfortunately follow those rules in this case we need to notify vodacom on the changes and we need approval from Vodacom before we can proceed to deliver your order based on the documents you have. Lastly the issue of couriers looking at your balance we will have to look into this matter as it is totally unacceptable
