I had purchased something online, paid for delivery and was waiting for the delivery. I was sent tracking information and was waiting for the delivery. At ±04h00 in the morning of the delivery, I received a SMS that I owed a small amount of money, i.e >R20 before the delivery could happen. The SMS looked authentic in RAM branding and colours. Later on that morning I phoned the RAM call centre and the recorded message that informed callers of the **** messages that they might received asking for payment of additional fees and that it must be ignored. I then spoke to an operator and they told me to obviously ignore and that they would report it to management. It must be noted that RAM ARE AWARE OF THIS ****. Thereafter I penned an email to RAM Couriers about this issue and this is what they said "Good day Peter, We are aware of the issue and this has affected most of the courier companies in the country as I have also received a message like this before from different courier company. The matter is being attended to by our IT department and our Risk team to get to the bottom of it." I phoned this person @ RAM and he basically said that all couriers companies have this issue. I have subsequently received more SMSs about monies owed to RAM. Anyway it is obviously an inside job as the SMS was timed before a RAM delivery and really after taking time out to inform them of the issue it is very obvious that RAM are not interested in fixing their data breaches and ****s! What a poor show!
