Parcel has been on delivery for over a week now

We've been waiting for delivery for our parcel since last week Wednesday (28 March 2018) but to date nothing has arrived. We've called again this week to track the parcel and were advised it would arrive yesterday (03 April 2018) and still nothing has arrived. Online when we try to track the parcel the notes/statements reflecting are false, we've received no missed calls and there's always someone at home daily. This was meant to be a gift for someone who is here on holiday but leaving town by end of the week. How does a parcel take over a week to be delivered when nothing is owed. This service beyond horrible and I'm left embarrassed as my guest is about to leave without the gift which was suppose to have to delivered more than a week ago. I just need my parcel delivered is that too much to as for from a company that mainly deals with just that? Please help.
