Missed delivery time and blame customer for error: ConsignmentID RW***2

ConsignmentID RW ********** 2

We employed Ram to deliver a tender to a Eskom Tender Center in eMalahleni/Witbank.

The tender was to be collected in Johannesburg and taken to eMalahleni over night and the request on the waybill was for it to be delivered before 10:30. The address on the waybill was for the Eskom Tender Center and the company name on the waybill was Eskom Kendal Power Station.

The excuse from Ram for not making the delivery on time was

1. Kendal Power Station was not at the address provided on the waybill even though the building name was written as Eksom Tender Center.

2. The that we didn't request the 10:30 delivery service and didn't pay for it.

My question to Ram is this.

1. We have a email conversation where the address is clearly stated. The waybill is marked with before 10:30 service. If you notice while loading the information on the tracking system, why not call the customer to confirm with them that you notice the request for the before 10:30 delivery service is marked on the waybill, but that they haven't paid for that service but for a standard service.

2. If you are not user if the address information on the waybill is correct or if the customer has the correct address information for the company on the waybill, why not contact them to check when the parcel gets dispached at 7:17 the next day and then keep telling the customer that everything is okay and that the parcel will be delivered.

Well Ram you cost me a tender of close to R9 million and 3 weeks of work (120 hours at R1030/hour) preparing the tender.

I will never use your service again and I will never recommend your service to anybody and if there was a rating less then 1 star thats what I would like to give you.

Dear Juan-Emil

We at RAM strive to provide the best service to our Customers at all times.

It is extremely regrettable any time any one of our valued customers has a service related problem and we note with concern the ramifications that these problems may have on your perception of the RAM Hand-To-Hand™ brand.

Your complaint has been noted and RAM’s Risk & Investigation department has investigated your complaint and found that the service you have paid for was a Next Day service (08:00 – 17:00)delivery time, therefore on arrival the driver was informed that the person receiving and singing for the tender documents has already left for the day

For any further information, you are welcome to contact our Call Centre.

Warm regards
