Complete Service Failure
If i could rate this 0 Stars I Would – Complete Service Failure with RAM.
This has been one of the most frustrating and *********** delivery experiences I have ever dealt with.
I placed an order on **29 April 2026** through First National Bank, who passed it to Digital Planet, who then handed it over to RAM Hand-To-Hand Couriers. At no point did I have a choice in any of these partners — yet I am the one dealing with the consequences of their failures.
From the start, there were issues with delivery details. Despite selecting and confirming my correct Cape Town address, I was later told that incorrect information had been provided. I proactively called Digital Planet on **04 May BEFORE dispatch** to correct this. I was assured the address was fixed and that the parcel would be routed correctly.
That assurance meant absolutely nothing.
On the very same night, I received confirmation that the parcel had been dispatched **to Durban** — the exact mistake I had just taken steps to prevent.
What followed was complete logistical chaos:
* Johannesburg → Durban (wrong route) * Stuck in Durban with no meaningful updates * Told it would be **flown to Cape Town** (this was false) * Sent back by road to Johannesburg * Finally dispatched again to Cape Town
This is not a minor delay — this is a **systemic failure of coordination and basic competence**.
The parcel only arrived in Cape Town late on **08 May**, nearly 10 days after placing the order, and even then, delivery did not happen. By **11 May**, I was still being given excuses — now blaming weather and staffing issues.
To make matters worse, I have had to spend a significant amount of my own time and airtime repeatedly calling and following up on an issue that should never have existed in the first place. Sitting in 20–30 minute call queues, being transferred around, and getting inconsistent answers is not acceptable — customers should not have to pay out of their own pocket just to get basic updates on a paid service.
Let’s be clear:
* If your systems cannot handle address validation, that is your failure * If your logistics reroute parcels incorrectly, that is your failure * If your support lines have excessive wait times and no supervisors available, that is your failure * If you promise actions (like air freight) and do the opposite, that is outright misinformation
At every step, responsibility was shifted between FNB, Digital Planet, and RAM. Not one party took ownership. Not one provided proactive communication. Not one delivered on what was promised.
At this point, it genuinely feels like it would have been faster to apply for a job at RAM and deliver the parcel myself. In fact, I have experienced faster and more organised service at Home Affairs — which says everything that needs to be said about the level of efficiency here.
This is not “bad luck” — this is **consistently poor service across all three companies**.
I am extremely disappointed and would not recommend this chain of service to anyone. Customers should not have to chase, correct, and monitor what should be a basic delivery process.
If this is what “express delivery” looks like, then the term has no meaning.
I do not Recommend this company to Anyone. Rather use the Courier Guy
Absolutely unacceptable and Pathetic.
