Bizarre proof of address requirement. I was expecting a device delivery from Vodacom and was assured that I would be contacted prior to delivery. THIS WAS NOT DONE. Then despite me walking out of my house at the address given for delivery I was asked for proof of address. Is the fact that I am at home not enough for you to accept this is where I live? Apparently not, so I provided a document from Home Affairs that I received with my Smart ID which has a date and corresponding reference numbers and the date of issue. This was still not enough. I contacted Vodacom who then said they will attend to and remedy the issue and RAM again tried to deliver. Again the same scenario as before. Not accepting a government issued document as proof of address. Because of this document not being accepted I have received correspondence that I am bound by the contract which I did not want. RAM you need to stop being pathetic when it comes to proof of address. This is now causing additional probels with Vodacom who are holding me liable for the contract despite me not having received any device because of RAMs questionable proof of residence issues.
