A post-Corona Survivor's Guide to PATHETIC service from Vodacom and Ram
It's 2020 post Corona virus and we are still beset by poor service from both Vodacom online sales and their delivery partner Ram couriers.
After running up and down trying to get an advertised upgrade with actual stock available I finally settled on my 4th choice. A new contract for a Huawei P30 that no one wants because the prices are so low and yup, plenty stock available.
2 weeks after confirmation of our deal on the Vodacom website and a week after the tracking number shows the parcel is on its way, NO PARCEL.
Haibo! My daughter's birthday is done and dusted in the meantime and the promised gift is still and has been in transit for over a week, just a stone's throw away from Sandton, in Isando.
After some calm calls I'm exasperated by the Vodacom employee who is socially distant with kids in the background working from home who promises to send an email sometime in 2020 and the Ram couriers person who calls to ask me why I didn't receive my parcel and how he's gonna be an investigator in this very serious situation or matter.
NO BIRTHDAY PRESENT. NO CALLS TO APOLOGIZE. NO PHONE. NO GOOD SALES ETIQUETTE. UNABLE TO DETECT IF A PARCEL IS ****** UNTIL YOU CALL. NOTHING!
Suffice to say moral lesson learnt is to go in store, any store where they have stock or just give up! Online is still a dream for some companies, not all...
We sincerely do apologise for the inconveniences caused in the attempt have the parcel delivered to you.
The results from the investigation only came in this afternoon and we have sent a lost-letter to the service provider, being Vodacom, to note that the parcel needs to be replaced on claim.
Please could you call them and advise that they must send you another one, so that it can speed up the new delivery whilst the loss claim is being handled.
Again, we would like to apologise for the delay and time lost.
Kind regards.
