MISLEADING CONSUMERS
To Whom It May Concern: My Concern regarding Rainbow Chicken and Sovereign frozen foods. What I find that their product advertising does not match the actual product inside their packaging. I have witnessed that the product read chicken Livers, or chicken Necks, or chicken Hearts and chicken Giblets but after purchasing your preferred product you discover at home that it is a mixture of the above mentioned products. I actually wasted my time and money letting Rainbow Chicken know about my finding but the responds was negative with attitude that made me believe that it is acceptable and that I have no knowledge of chicken body parts. I have not yet contacted Sovereign Country Range due to my previous Rainbow Chicken experience. This was the reply from Mr Zimasa Mtshen with Incident number INC*** on 26 May 2026 and it is called Priority: Medium. Please see below response message> (For clarity, chicken giblets are defined as the heart, liver (with the gall bladder removed), gizzard, and neck of the chicken. Giblets are classified as edible offal, and this confirms that the product description on our packaging is accurate and not misleading. As a responsible chicken manufacturer, we are committed to honest and transparent labeling in line with regulatory definitions. To further assist our consumers, we have included a detailed contents declaration on our packaging, allowing customers to make informed purchasing decisions based on their preferences). My argument was then why call each product as individual items as it was know for decades. This is a total way of misleading the consumer but see below in a message rep**** to me, the understanding RainBow chickens management believes is right> (As a responsible chicken manufacturer, we are committed to honest and transparent labeling in line with regulatory definitions. To further assist our consumers, we have included a detailed contents declaration on our packaging, allowing customers to make informed purchasing decisions based on their preferences). Please can you intervene to assure that this type of practices is not allowed and that quality control still exists.

Simply Chicken disappointing Viennas
I bought 1 kg Cheesy Simple Chicken Viennas to my surprise they do not have cheese at all. I know these Vienna after warming them you will find cheese inside. This time im very disappointed. I want them to collect these Viennas to prove my complaint is legitimate.

Simply Chicken disappointing Viennas

Misleading product and poor quality – very disappointing
I purchased a 5kg bag of Rainbow Chicken mixed portions from Makro on 28 February for R164 as it was on special. Firstly, the quality was extremely disappointing. When cooked, the chicken did not taste fresh at all—it had a stale taste, as if it had been frozen for far too long. This is very concerning when it comes to food quality and safety. Secondly, the product was completely misleading. The packaging clearly states “mixed portions,” however the bag contained almost exclusively breast pieces. There were only about two other pieces in the entire 5kg bag. This is not what was advertised or expected when purchasing a mixed portion product from Rainbow Chicken. As a customer, I feel misled and disappointed by both the retailer and the supplier. Specials should not mean compromised quality or inaccurate product contents. I would not recommend this product, and I hope both Makro and Rainbow Chicken take this seriously and improve their quality control and product accuracy.

Disgusting
😞 I'm extremely disappointed with my recent purchase of 2 tubs of giblets from Rainbow Chicken. When I opened the tubs, I was shocked and disgusted to find that they were mixed with chicken hearts and necks. I specifically bought giblets, not a mix of other chicken parts. Not what I paid for! Would not recommend. 1/5 stars.

Rainbow Chicken Mixed Portions a Lie!!!
I bought a 5kg pack of mixed chicken portions and to my horror all the pieces were breast meat. Dried up chicken meat. Contacted rainbow who apologised by saying they do not have control over what pieces are placed in the pack. Who then does have control? Why call it "mixed portions" because clearly the portions are not mixed.

Terrible Quality
I bought the Rainbow Chicken strips what was on special in checkers. I made a purchase in December and the crumbs on the strips was burnt. I always purchase and never had this issue. This was such a waste of my money and I was very disappointed, surely quality control should have picked up on this before sending out for Delivery. The crumbs were just extra brown but burnt
