xtremely disappointing experience with Raceview Motors Alberton
Our experience with Raceview Motors Alberton has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. We purchased a GAC GS3 Emzoom demo vehicle from this dealership in December, specifically because we wanted a safe and reliable vehicle for our daughter who would be travelling to varsity.
Unfortunately, what followed has been a complete breakdown in trust and customer service from both the sales and service departments.
At the point of sale, the vehicle was advertised as a demo model with approximately 900 km on the odometer. During the sales process, we were advised that the mileage was closer to 4,000 km. However, when we collected the vehicle after payment was made, we discovered the vehicle had over 12,000 km on the clock. This was never transparently communicated upfront.
We were also assured that the vehicle carried the relevant GAC warranty benefits and that everything would be in order. Due to the mileage discrepancy and concerns around the vehicle’s history, we requested written confirmation regarding the warranty and vehicle status. Instead of taking ownership and providing clear answers, we experienced delays and explanations that did not resolve our concerns.
The registration process was also frustrating, with delays and the vehicle ultimately being registered as “used” — something that was not clearly explained during the sales process.
The service experience has been equally disappointing. We reported an ongoing tyre pressure warning issue during the vehicle service process and were assured that there was no problem with the tyre pressure sensor. We later discovered that one of the tyres had previously been repaired on the inner wall — a serious safety concern. We had no choice but to replace both rear tyres at our own cost.
What is most disappointing is not only the issues themselves, but the lack of accountability from Raceview Motors. Instead of acknowledging the concerns and working towards a fair resolution, we have experienced what feels like avoidance and conflicting explanations from both the sales and service teams.
A vehicle purchase, especially one involving a family member’s safety, requires honesty, transparency and trust. Unfortunately, our experience with Raceview Motors Alberton has left us questioning all three.
Potential customers should carefully consider their experience after the sale, not only the promises made before signing the paperwork.
