Pro rata and crazy utility rates
Ive been staying at the unison for the past 3 months and I’m regretting my stay, I was charged with pro rata for the first month upon moving in as I took the keys two days before moving in,
I proceeded and paid it, now this month I’m being charged again with pro-rata as I’m told I didn’t pay for it and I’m in arrears.
My rent for December has drastically increased with almost 2 thousand.
Heat pump recovery and all those rates have drastically doubled up and it doesn’t make sense as I stay alone and hardly even here I don’t understand how as I’m not getting answers.

This amount covers the period from 27/09/24 to 30/09/24, before your official lease start date of 01/10/24. The pro-rata charges for this period were explained in the welcome pack email. Rent is billed in advance while utilities are billed in arrears. On 18th December, Ntombi tried to call you to explain the billing, and Thabo later provided the necessary details.
