Forest Views :(

Forest Views I would not recommend staying at Forest Views, especially if you’re over the age of 25.

There are numerous issues that make living here frustrating and unpleasant:

1. Lack of Sunlight: The only large window is in the bedroom, leaving the entire space dark and depressing. To get some light, you have to open the front door, which compromises your safety since anyone can see inside—and birds are constantly ready to fly in.

2. Poor Interior Design: The walls are painted in an odd blue/navy color, which does nothing to brighten the space. White walls would have been a much better choice.

3. Water Problems: The water situation is terrible. There’s no such thing as lukewarm water—it’s either scalding hot or ice cold. On top of that, the hot water runs out after about 10 minutes, making showers feel rushed and inconvenient.

4. Flying Insects: Recently, there’s been an influx of flies in the house, which is extremely annoying and unhygienic.

5. Parking Drama: Parking is a mess. There are only about five visitor bays, and disputes over parking spots are a regular occurrence downstairs.

6. Student Accommodation Vibes: Living here feels like being in student housing. Visitors can’t enter easily, even when you’ve informed security in advance. Their stay is also restricted, which is incredibly inconvenient.

7. Shops and Safety Concerns: The shops downstairs are another safety issue. The owners are frequently seen roaming around the complex with their friends, despite not living here.

8. Bribery Culture: Unfortunately, bribery is rampant. If you want any form of convenience or better treatment, you’re expected to bribe the security guards. There was a mean male guard who I have not seen lately. He was incredibly rude- I am not sure how the company allowed him to work there. He too, expected bribes.

9. Dirty Facilities: The laundromat is a disaster. The washing machines are filthy and don’t clean your clothes properly. New machines are truly needed. The gym is poorly maintained, with missing equipment. The new gym at The Homage is even worse due to a severe ventilation issue—you can’t even breathe properly because of the lack of airflow.

10. Dirty Corridors: The corridors are constantly dirty. There seems to be only one cleaner for the entire complex, which is simply unacceptable.

11. Noisy Location: The complex is located right next to Louis Botha Road, which is loud and chaotic. The area feels rowdy and unpleasant to live in.

The only few good things I can say about this place are that it’s reasonably priced and conveniently located near Sandton City, Melrose Arch, and Rosebank Mall.

Leon is helpful- when he is available. Which is not so often. I assume he is overworked.

Overall, the negatives far outweigh the positives. This place is poorly managed, and I strongly advise looking elsewhere.
