Quicksure claim 8th week no settlement !
On the 24th April 2015, I had a house break in, it took six weeks to reach a settlement with Quicksure, the other downside to all of this was that the settlement to be paid out is only half out of what the ****** contents were valued at, the insurer excuse is that I was under insured, they took the (sum insured/new inventory x claim = half of actual claim). Neither the insurer nor the broker ever contacted me to update contents cover, why should I contact them when I pay them for a service. It is now the 8th week, 2 weeks that I have signed the settlement and still my funds have not been paid. Whenever I call the Quick sure centre they say that it will be done In the next 2 days for the last two weeks I have been hearing this excuse, to all consumers out there I would advise you to be very careful of certain insurance companies.
I note that your Broker already responded to you regarding the under insurance.
At the inception of the policy you were informed of the importance to insure your property on the replacement value. To assist you, they have submitted an Inventory form to you during October 2013 and again during March 2014 for completion and return. These were unfortunately never returned to them.
The delay in the matter is due to the dispute in settlement and we have only received the signed settlement offer on 8 June 2015. Payment has been requested and the matter will be finalized in due course.
All insurance companies and not only certain ones will apply the average clause in the event of under insurance.
