Mislead, ****med and ill-treated by Quicksure.

I have insured my dirt bikes with Quicksure for past 10 years. In February 2012 I bought a new KTM 300 contacted Quicksure to add my 300 to my policy.
In January 2015 I had an accident.I was severely injured and the bike tumbled. When the bike came to a rest the bike throttle was stuck and it revved until the motor seized.
As the damage was significant I decided to use my insurance facility for the first time.
When I contacted Quicksure they said that the bike wasn't on my policy. After investigation Quiksure finally admitted that they were at fault and i had called them to insure the bike. This after they pulled the recording with me actually putting the bike on my policy.Knowing that they were in the wrong Quicksure apologised and via the broker said that if I paid the back premiums (R8642-66) they would cover the claim. As the damages were greater than the premiums I paid the amount.
Quicksure then processed the claim but declined most of the damages.Quicksure refuse to cover the damage to the motor damage blaming bad maintenance after providing proof that the motor was rebuilt not 5 weeks before.
This is not ethical conduct and I feel that I have been blatantly **********.

Hello Garethir,

According to the evidence in our possession the damage to the engine is not as a result of the accident that you were involved in, but due to normal wear and tear, which is specifically excluded in terms of any short-term insurance policy.
The assessor that inspected the damages is a keen biker himself and an expert as far as accidental damage and normal wear and tear are concerned.
This matter has been referred to the Insurer and they maintain that they are not liabile for the damages to the engine.
We are of the view that our conduct is 100% ethical in that we have agreed to repair your bike, as regards the accident damage. We are not liable for wear and tear and maintenance related issues, as that is excluded.
