Delaying Tactics

Good day<br> I was involved i an accident on the 22nd of Jan 2016 , i submitted the claim on the 24th of Jan ,on the 14th of Feb i was asked to meet with the investigator , i gave him all the necessary info and took him to the accident scene , he promised that he will submit the report within a week , on the 25th of Feb the car hire was due to be returned and i asked the consultant to assist , she told me that there was nothing she can do , if she books the car again it would be at my expense ...i told myself that i was not gonna return the car but eventually did not want to fight with them and returned the car ...today is the 2nd of March my claim hasn't been finalized although i was told that the car was a write off..i do not know whether these delay tactics are to try frustrate me or to avoid paying as it has been long since the claim was logged.
