Up yours.. I am cancelling

We've signed a contract way back in 2003 - never telling us it is a life long contract. Now when we try and cancell the contract they want me to believe that I cannot cancel. Guess what? The NCC and Consumers act seems to view it differently. I am telling you now - I hereby give 30 days notice as per my email sent to you as well. Please feel free to take me to court. I urge everyone to lay a complaint with the NCC.

The CPA comprehensively addresses the cancellation of contracts. In brief, it says:

• The maximum period for a fixed-term contract is 24 months;

• Before you enter into a contract, a supplier must disclose its cancellation policy to you;

• You can cancel any fixed-term contract by giving the service provider 20 business days’ notice in writing at any time during the contract;

• You can be charged a “reasonable” cancellation fee; and

• The cancellation fee cannot have the effect of negating your right to cancel.

Toodles - thank you for the **** service and trying to keep me hostage!!
