QVC and LockDown conduct
This is not going to be a normal, “Bash The Business” review. I have a problem with the conduct with handling accounts. I joined QVC (MDC) back in 2010. We had a few nice weeks away between 2010 and 2016 when thing dramatically changed in my life after a divorce. I’m a visually impaired person and during the time that I was married going away has never been a problem. After the divorce I spoke to an advisor 3 times and even attended a contact session that was held in Polokwane and spoke to the advisers about my predicament and well, no really solution. Payments have been done all the time and not a single payment from the start of the contract was skipped. Now, with the lockdown my business has really been affected and as of late February 2020 clients started holding back payments for services rendered and products sold. The payment for my QVC account returned as unpaid for March 2020 as well as April 2020. This afternoon I received an email from a collection agent, Quantum Collect informing me about my non-payment. This is after 10 years of paying account on time every month. Not even an email directly from QVC asking about why the payment is returned. Just like the general feeling I have gotten about me not able to utilise the service post my divorce, just handing an account over without getting in contact with the client is simply not acceptable. We are all in a very difficult situation that was completely unplanned and unforeseen and for someone working in a service-based industry this kind of reaction to non-payment just shows that is all about the investors and the bottom line and not about why we as the public buy into the plan. I hope I will at least get some communication concerning this matter from QVC and that some kind of solution can be arranged for the matters above.
