PSG- Poor short term insurance and even poorer service.

I am absolutely horrified. I was involved in an accident about a month ago. I started the claims process and PSG towed my vehicle away.

Today I followed up, and found out that PSG took my vehicle to what they call a vehicle assessment center which turned out to be a s**** yard. There is still no work done on the vehicle from what seemed to be a damaged radiator and front bumper. Bear in mind this is a limited edition X6 M50d, only 10 were brought into the country by BMW SA.

They claim to not know where my vehicle l is, nor do they have any record of the accident. The response form the call center was less than pathetic.

I have no guarantee that this s**** yard has not cannibalised my vehicle. From a small bumper bashing to this, I am absolutely disgusted and sick to my stomach.

I am contemplating legal action against them based on gross negligence because this is unacceptable. I have no guarantee my vehicle will still be road worthy or safe on the long road.

Hi Errol

We investigated your complaint as a matter of urgency, and can confirm that your car is currently parked at SMD Sandton awaiting assessment. SMD is a professional vehicle salvage management company that several insurers – including your insurer, Santam – use for vehicle storage while repairs are to be authorised. Your car was therefore towed there as per the standard process followed for all Santam’s similar claims.

While we appointed an assessor to your case on 23 October 2019 (the same day we received your claim form), he has been battling to get hold of you. It appears that the contact details we have on record for you differ to those you gave in your claim form, which is likely where this difficulty arose.

One of our team leaders will contact you this morning, so that we can help to finalise your claim as swiftly as possible. We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused you but look forward to helping you resolve the matter.

Regards
PSG Insure
