My experience with Pro PABX Communications has been one of the most disappointing business experiences I have ever encountered. We signed a 60-month agreement based on a proposal that clearly included: • Uncapped Business Internet 50/50 Upload & Download Included • Free Service Level Agreement for the duration of the contract • A complete camera and monitoring solution For years we paid our account in good faith, believing that Pro PABX would honour the commitments that formed the basis of the agreement. Instead, after approximately 3 years, the internet service that was specifically included in the proposal was simply discontinued, despite the contract still running. The proposal clearly states that internet is INCLUDED, yet after 3 years Pro PABX decided they would no longer provide or pay for the internet service that formed part of the original agreement. This left us in an impossible position. Not only were we paying approximately R2,700 per month under the agreement, but we were now expected to source and pay for an additional internet service ourselves – a cost that was never supposed to be ours according to the original proposal. The most shocking part is that Pro PABX had already received payment for the equipment and services, while customers remain tied to long-term finance agreements. When problems arise, the customer is left carrying the financial burden while Pro PABX has already received their money. Today I am left sitting with a finance agreement that still has to be paid, while Pro PABX has already received payment. The finance provider understandably washes its hands of the dispute because the service-related issues are between ourselves and Pro PABX. As a result, the customer carries all the risk while Pro PABX has already benefited financially from the transaction. I eventually stopped making payments because I was no longer receiving the service that formed part of the original agreement. It is unreasonable to expect customers to continue paying for services that are no longer being delivered as promised. I have retained the original proposal, correspondence and supporting documentation. I also have communication and emails from other businesses who have reported similar frustrations and experiences. My advice is simple: sit down with a calculator before signing anything. Work out exactly what you will be paying over the full term of the agreement and compare that to the actual value of what you are receiving. The numbers may surprise you. Do your homework thoroughly before committing to a long-term agreement. Ask for everything in writing, question every promise, and make sure you fully understand what is included for the duration of the contract. Looking back, had we done a more detailed cost analysis before signing, we would have made a very different decision. My recommendation to any business owner is simple: Be extremely careful before doing business with Pro PABX Communications. Read every document carefully. Verify every promise. Ask difficult questions. Make sure you understand exactly what is included, for how long it is included, and what the total cost over the full term will be. Based on my experience, once the contract is signed, the reality can be very different from what was originally promised. Be careful. Be vigilant. Ask questions. Verify everything. Unfortunately, by the time you discover the true cost and consequences of the agreement, regret often comes too late. I welcome a detailed public response from Pro PABX Communications explaining why internet that was advertised as INCLUDED in the original proposal was discontinued while customers remained liable for the full financial obligation.
