Duracell battery leakage

New Duracell battery leaked inside an expensive Maglite torch. (Batteries only expire in 2017.) The flashlight was not exposed to extremes of temperature or trauma et cetera. <br> <br> One of C four-cell batteries leaked-which rendered the flashlight inoperable, and resulted in extensive corrosion of the aluminium flashlight body.<br> <br> On contacting Duracell I was told that the \batteries should be removed after six months of being in a device\". (This information does not appear anywhere on the packaging.)<br> <br> They refused to pay for repair or replacement of the damaged flashlight. They indicated that a \"battery voucher\" would be sent to me-three weeks later I am still waiting.<br> <br> I won't buy Duracell batteries again - Energizer batteries have a two-year guarantee against leakage even after expiry.<br> <br> The Duracell bunny is a lame-duck....<br> "
