Inconsiderate Hospital

My unemployed aunt took her son to this hospital as he was sick. They found her son to have liver failure but we’re still waiting on some more blood test results. In the meantime, the Dr told her that her son needs to start on some meds. Upon her arrival at the pharmacy, she was told to pay R50 for the medication. Now R50 to an employee person could be nothing but to an unemployed person, who walked to and from the hospital is something, something that she doesn’t have. The begged the pharmacy to give her explaining that her son needs help as his health was deteriorating daily. From the nausea, to the yellow eyes being sore and loss of appetite. She was told she won’t get the meds and to sit by the benches, make a plan to get the money then she can get the meds. What kind of South Africa are we living in! A mother begging for her child to have meds and you can’t give because she needs to pay! Truly disgusting behaviour. A month ago this hospital was being praised for the way they treated Mjey (public figure) when he was sick. So which means your hospital susses out who the patient is and for good reviews, you treat them well but nobody’s like my aunt, you couldn’t care a dam! It’s a shame what you did. My uncle who was at home, also unemployed had to ask the neighbour for help, he also had to walk which is an approximate 20 mins walk just to get there and another 20mins from the hospital to our home.
