****y Manager V&A Waterfront - New Years Eve

We have had the worst experience at V&A Waterfront Primi on New Years Eve. Upon arriving at about 9pm we were told to stand in a long queue to wait for a table. After 1.5 hours we found out that there was a set menu for R350pp and tables outside for R2000 a piece. Tables at this price was available immediately. The next announcement was that the kitchen closes at 11pm - and we were still in a long queue. Besides having 2 extremely hungry teenangers, I have blood sugar problems and was scared of passing out. I do agree that businesses are there to make money and that the idea of set menus on New Years Eve is wonderful, but it would have been nice to know in advance - before we embarked the long journey to a table. We would have gone to another restaurant or ordered food from the Food Court even, but creating an expectation and simply shrugging it off as nothing is not courteous or professional. We, as a family, have always liked Primi @ V&A and the service has always been good - just this past New Years Eve was not well managed (for walk in customers) in my opinion and experience. As a last note, my husband spoke to the manager (Andrew?) and explained the above and stated that we would lodge a complaint on Facebook, whereupon the manager simply shrugged his shoulders and said he will read it on Facebook and promptly turned around and walked away. This was rude and unprofessional.

It also appears that Primi does not care to reply to any HelloPeter complaints, which makes one wonder?
