******* - BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY

BEWARE of doing business with this company. I purchased a new pool cover in October 2021, which meant that it only covered the pool during the summer months (November - April). I was advised by the company that services my pool every 2 weeks to leave the pool open during the winter months, which I did.

I covered my pool again in November 2022 when the weather warmed up, but already noticed that the cover was looking a bit discoloured. In February, it ripped!

I immediately reported it to PowerPlastics - who sent a team to evaluate the damage - and who then removed the cover and took it to their premises for testing.

After many calls, I was finally told that this was damage caused by the pool chemicals. I rep**** that this was impossible because the cover was virtually new and my pool is professionally maintained.

I also reminded them that they had guaranteed that it would last 2-5 years and it had not been covering my pool for even 7 months.

They continued to blame the pool maintenance company and flatly refused to repair or replace the cover - or even to offer a discounted rate for a replacement.

This company is a *******. Either they use defective materials OR they lie about their guarantee.

My advice: Do not waste your money! Like me, you will regret it if you do!

We take every customer complaint seriously and always carry out an extensive quality and production audit to identify the cause of the problem. As already explained directly, this customer’s pool cover and components have been damaged and discoloured by an incorrect water balance. 
 
We urge customers to study the warranty’s full terms and conditions when getting a new pool cover, and the cover care guidelines are critical. Quality pool covers such as ours do not typically suffer such wear and tear if they are cared for correctly. We do not use defective materials and we do not lie! 
 
We are sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused as we really do take steps to resolve any complaint and have a positive outcome.  
 
It serves as a valuable reminder that the cover care guidelines will help extend your cover’s lifespan when followed. Always keep the water balanced by using the right amount of chemicals. If you are unsure what is needed, take a sample of water to your local pool shop or pool professional who will advise on treatment. 
 
Lastly, the cover is designed to stay on the pool year-round and it is an excellent way to close a pool in winter. This customer has been told the exact opposite of what the pool cover industry recommends for winter pools.
