Power Plastics poor service and bad products

I purchased a 400 micron Geo Bubble pool cover from Power Plastics in Wetton, Cape Town on 1 November 2023 with a Roller Station. Their technicians came to measure my pool but when the cover arrived they had to cut the reinforced edging off as the cover was too big. I was charged for the reinforced edging only for it to be removed.

2 weeks later I noticed that the wheels on the roller station stand started getting surface rust. I brought this to their attention only to be told that it is due to pool chemicals. I own a salt water pool and the only items I throw in the pool is salt. After back and forth emails they eventually replaced the wheels only for it to rust again a few weeks later. I then just left it. How can they sell a product knowing that its going to be kept by a pool where pool water will get splashed on it and potentially rust.

In April 2024 I covered the pool blanket on its roller station with its cover and stored it under my shaded cloth carport for the Winter. When I took it out in September 2024 I noticed that the blanket shrunk about 10cm and during the day these massive air pockets developed which did not allow the blanket to make contact with the water at these spots. I again brought this to Power Plastics attention. I was again told that it was due to my chemicals. I assured them again that I do not use any chemicals. After weeks of back and forth emails, Power Plastics informed me that they will need to send a piece of my cover to Germany or some overseas destination where their suppliers are and get them to test it. I would then have to incur the cost for the testing and getting the pool cover over there. I informed them that I was not prepared to pay for anything as the pool cover is still under Guarantee. They then collected my pool cover with roller station and kept it for about a month doing testing at their premises in Wetton. I was then told that they could not reproduce the air pocket and they stitched a very untidy piece of plastic on the one end to help with the shrinkage.

When returning my pool cover, it was missing a ***** and washer which keeps the base in place. The roller station also had yellow paint on it. I brought this to their attention. When the technicians eventually came out to bring a ***** and washer they told me that they will drop off a piece of pool blanket for me to leave on the water and see if it does it with that piece as well. The ***** kept falling out when using the roller station, Power plastics said that they would get someone to come sort it out the following week. When someone eventually came, he only dropped off the piece of pool blanket but told us that we must call the office about the ***** falling out and that he was not going to see to that. Power Plastics then wanted to charge me a call out fee for someone to come out and sort out the missing ***** that keeps falling out, an issue that they brought upon when dropping the roller station back.

I have bought 3 pool blankets and one solid safety cover from Power plastics over the last 10 years but this was my last. I would never want to experience this again and I would not want anyone else to go through the same as well.

I have all the emails and pictures to back this up, they have really done nothing to sort out my issue and only provided me with bad service. I am sure there are other companies out there where pool blankets can be purchased.
