Power Plastics - by far one of the most frustrating companies I have ever dealt with!

If you can avoid this company, do it - especially over the holiday period! My initial cover came quickly and efficiently in October last year (although required a few appointments since no one mentioned the first time that the pool must be full for cutting). But I made the mistake of ordering a roll up station in November. Calls were never returned by Rudi, my salesperson. At least 3 times I was told someone would come to collect my cover or bring the roll up station, only for no one to show up. Finally someone came to collect my pool cover about a week before Christmas closing. I spoke with Caroline, who was surprised I'd ever been told anyone would come to my house as my roll up station apparently had not even been ordered! The day of closing before the holidays the guys showed up at my house with an old cover (they had lost my cover) that did not fit my pool. They happened to have someone else's new cover in the truck, which they took out and cut for my pool (sorry to the next person!). Of course, in the rush to leave they did not cut it properly and it is about 1 foot too short for my pool. After no one contacted me 3 weeks into January I finally got someone on the phone and my cover was collected and roll up station delivered over the course of just 1 day! I was grateful to finally have everything, but have been left with a cover that does not fit.

To top off the whole experience, I got an invoice a couple of days later that was more than my quote due to EXTRA LABOUR!!! I nearly lost it at that point. I wrote back to the accounting department, heard nothing for a couple of weeks, and then received a corrected invoice. No note, no apology, nothing else. Just pay. Anyway, I have finally simmered down enough to pay the rest of my invoice but will never go near this company again.

Dear Kelle Gagnè

We would like to acknowledge that your experience with our company has not been completely satisfactory and take this opportunity to thank you for persevering with us.

As a company we will always work with clients until all the issues are resolved, as we have done with you. I have been through the notes and assessed your entire process and the delays were caused mainly due to the fact that your rollup station was not part of the original order, which led to miscommunication and ultimately some wasted appointments, however the issues should have still been resolved a lot sooner.

Further complicating matters was the timing and the fact that Cape Town was hit by Level 6B water restrictions at the time of your order. We did our utmost to maintain our usual good customer care and deliver the best service we could but the sheer volume of orders did put our processes under immense pressure. This is not the norm for us and we are now better geared for a sudden influx of orders and enquiries so as to not repeat the same situation.

Again, our apologies for the frustrations caused. We trust you are enjoying all the benefits your cover and wish to thank you for your final payment.

Yours sincerely,
