Worst Service: Rude Staff
This Postnet is very convenient, there are 4 ladies working here two “coloured” and two “black”. They generally offer fast service, it could be more friendly and less cold but you get your stuff done and you move on. But earlier today I received the worst service here than I’ve received anywhere: earlier today (13/09/2019) just before 17:00 I was at this shop with my two teenage children to access the internet. When I got there the two black ladies (I think they speak Sotho and/or Sepedi) were at the counter, one helping the other count money. We stood at the counter and they continued to count the money and ignored us. I finally said “hello”. The one wearing a doek (headscarf) looked at me and greeted back but went back to counting the money. I stood there for about 3 mins waiting to be served while they totally ignored me! Eventually I asked “are you ladies going to help me?” Again the one with the doek snapped back and told me “Ma’m we are going to help you, we are busy here counting money, it’s very important!” I could not believe how rude she was. I rep**** “Surely one of you could count the money while the other helps me? Pls just allocate a computer for me to access the internet” She retorted “ Computer 1” with a very bad attitude and without giving me the password. I had to go back to her to ask for the password as I could not access the internet. The sheer disrespect they gave me is amazing and it makes me wonder what service would my kids get here if they went there alone.
Later on as I was preparing to pay I witnessed the other black lady (she’s fatter than the other one) admonishing an older middle aged man about how she had done him a favour and opened the door for him after they had closed the shop and how this man should not tell lies because he was “old” to do so! I’m not sure of the context of this conversation but the sheer rudeness was astounding and just horrible! No customer should be spoken to this way. This man was there with his teenage son as well.
These ladies make you feel like a piece of nothing, like you’re there to bother them and that they are doing you a favour. It’s totally shocking to be so disrespected by someone who is supposed to provide a service to you. And for them to do so in front of your children is even worse. Postnet needs to either retrain these people or fire them, they are doing huge reputations damage to your brand!
