POSTNET SA cast under bad service banner because of cape gate branchs` bad service
There appears to be generalised utterances of bad and putrid service by the POSTNET SA (cape gate branch) by writers on this site. Whilst these utterances continue in the public forum, the Head of the POSTNET Cape Gate Branch appears to trade interminably under the banner of POSTNET SA undeterred. Case in point; on the 25 April 2018 I approached the POSTNET CAPE GATE branch to courier very confidential and urgent documents to the SCA (Supreme Court of Appeal) in Bloemfontein. I was vicariously advised and reassured by the *********** Manager that the exorbitant cost of R599,00 was the cost for urgent same day service (overnight), and that the confidential court documents would reach Bloemfontein by no later than 11am the following morning. I was happy with this rude comport as I needed the documents to reach its destination before 12 noon as any later time would mean that the entire exercise was futile. By 10.30 am on the 26th April I was advised that no documents had reached Bloem. I contacted the POSTNET CAPE GATE branch who had no idea where the documents were, and by 12 noon they would have some idea. Suffice to say after several dropped calls to their branch coupled with uncouth and inarticulate replies I could no longer rely on the blatant incompetence and proceeded to make other arrangements by requesting the acceptance of newly commissioned and signed affidavits to be copied, scanned and emailed whilst the new originals could be couriered by another POSTNET branch. Given that it was a long weekend, I was granted an indulgence. Shockingly the initial set of original documents from the POSTNET CAPE GATE branch eventually reached Bloemfontein only at 14.30 pm, by then new affidavits were drafted re-commissioned and re-signed with the originals on its way via the POSTNET SA PAARL BRANCH, who logged a complaint with Mr Marius Louw of POSTNET SA head offices. After contacting the Franchisee owner at the POSTNET SA CAPE GATE branch to request a refund my appeals were met with insolence, putrid and blatant refusals with an emphatic NO. I was eventually contacted by Mr Marius Louw of POSTNET SA head offices, who apologised for the branch behaviour, and that they would refund my money in full. To date that has not been done and it appears I will now have to go through the very unnecessary and unwarranted process of demand and summons. What would that cost be now? What pains me is the stress, trauma, time wasting and costly exercise this has all been. But more importantly POSTNET CAPE GATE branch should not be trusted with one’s urgent and confidential packages.
