Posnet courier bad price

I will never use postnet courier service again. They charged me R1019 for a parcel from Pretoria to Modimole. The parcel weighed 14Kg and measured 55x55x22 cm. It was to be deliver to the door. Most other quotes was round about R250 for the same service. I queried the price and it was explained to me that because it was door to door the price was so high. If it was postnet to postnet it would have cost R330. So the cost of the last few kilometers was about R700!. Does this make sense?
